Wedding Video and Photography – The Trust Issue
Posted on July 2, 2012 | by Lucy Jones
One thing that I feel is the most important to consider when choosing someone to film or photograph your wedding day is trust. The relationship that you have with these people can make or break a day. Make sure you get on with your photographer and videographer, not just like them, but really get on with them as a friend. If you do, then not only will you get great documentation of your wonderful day but you will also have great fun doing it!!! This is the best day of your life and we are going to be apart of a very big section of it, you want someone who will make you feel relaxed and enjoy the excitement. Will they get on with your family and be able to help them be relaxed during the photos/video? Make sure you are totally happy with who you chooses to be apart of your personal and intimate wedding day. It is the most important day of your life and who ever gets the pleasure of documenting it should not only be a photographer/videographer but a new friend that you would like at your wedding.
Gill and Ciarán’s Wedding Day Film
Posted on October 25, 2011 | by Lucy Jones
It was a beautiful day in Malihide Castle with the bride and groom looking like a prince and princess. It was so lovely working with Gill and Ciaran. From the very beginning they had a fantastic creative style. From working on Gills poem that was projected on their big day to filming their wedding it was a total pleasure.
I feel we have made good friends for life. xxx

Gillian and Ciaran’s Pre-recorded speech and engagement shoot which was shown on the day of their wedding as a suprise to their family and friends.
The poem was composed by Gill for her Dad who passed away. It is a beautiful tribute to him and now because of Gill he can be part of their wedding day
Thanks to Gill and Ciaran for being open to the idea of pre-recorded speeches and making this shoot happen. You guys are a dream to work with!
Congradulations and I cant wait to showcase the film of your big Day.

If it’s a funky surprise dance at the reception, a pre-recorded montage or your love story premiere we’ll help you with it all! It is all so important to have these fun parts of your event filmed, you never know, if you wanted, yours might be the next top ranking video on Youtube!
So is having your big day filmed all that important and if so why???

Many people wonder if it is worth spending a good portion of their budget on having their big day filmed. Some feel that they can do with just the photographer, and others are a bit camera shy and feel like they don’t want to have someone following them around with a camera all day.
I totally understand if people are on a budget and are trying to cut some of the cost of a wedding and also If people are a bit camera shy.
But the way I see it is, you spend months (sometimes years) planning this one big day. Every detail is considered, from the colours to the music. All of your family and friends are geared up and have been helping you with all of the preparations. A lot of money is forked out for the perfect venue and all of the decor. All of this excitement is all part of the celebration.
What people don’t realise, is that you can have some of these momentous events filmed as part of your wedding film, the choosing of the dress, the cake tasting, the venue hunt, and the fun, laughter and excitement in between. It is not just the one day that is important, it is the whole event. The day will finally come and you will feel so excited and in disbelief that it will probable pass in a daze. You most likely wont get a chance to enjoy all of the finer details that you had so meticulously planed. This is once again the reason having you day filmed is so important. We as filmmakers discreetly pick up on the details and also the reactions of your family and friends who see these finer details. Your event is history in the making so much planning and attention is put in to it, that it would be such a shame if it was not all recorded with as much care.
In years to come you will look back on your wedding film and see how beautiful you looked. Watch all of the people who attended, the smiles and laughter, you and your other half, embarking on the beginning of your life together. You will be able to show your grandchildren when they ask you about your wedding and also show people who couldn’t make it on the day. Photographs are very important but they don’t pick up your personality and your emotions like film can. It is so important to capture every essence of your day and record your history in the making.

Marriage Equallity In Ireland
Posted on April 19, 2011 | by Lucy Jones
I was delighted to get a lovely email from Moninne Griffith, Director at www.MarriageEquality.ie saying that she read my interview in Confetti Wedding Magazine:
Hi Lucy,
I just read the interview you gave in Confetti and wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for reminding everyone that we must keep pushing until same sex couples have the choice to get married if they want to. Civil Partnership is just a first step!
Thanks for using that opportunity to raise awareness.
Best wishes,
Moninne Griffith
I would like to say thank you to Moninne for taking time out of her day to send this email to me it really took me by surprise, as I keep forgetting that people will be reading the interview!!! LOL
Supporting the fight for marriage equality is paramount, Civil Partnership is a good step forward but I do think Ireland is ready to let people who love each other join in marriage legally.
My interview it is on pg164 of the Summer Issue of Confetti Wedding Magazine if anyone is interested in hearing me spout on some more about me and EDEN Digital Film Studio.

We had a great time down in Killkenny shooting a Make-up tutorial with the lovely Victoria Muruvea, Make-up and Hair designer. Victoria is fantastic to work with, very up beat and friendly and highly qualified with a professional background in styling from Brushstroke Academy in Shepperton Studios, London. I only found out after the shoot that she actually has a wonderful bridal styling site Veil Off Studio. Victoria provides a very professional personal styling service to all of her brides.
The model who was having her make-up done for the shoot was the beautiful Rochelle McIntyre from 1st Options Agency. 19year old Rochelle produced a very striking glamor look for the shoot. She has wonderful enchanting eye contact with the camera and although it was a very long and stressful full day shoot Rochelle was wonderful at keeping her composure and enthusiasm right up until the last shot.
After the Tutorial was shot Rochelle went straight in to a Cover shoot by Photographer Seamus Costelloe
